Port Milwaukee Project & its Effects on Global Agriculture

Join us for an update on agriculture trade and a new Port of Milwaukee project that will boost the impact of Wisconsin farm goods around the world.

Wisconsin annually exports more than $3 billion in ag products to some 150 countries, ranking high in the export of ginseng roots, cranberries, corn, cheese, whey and meat and fish products.  Export of many of these Wisconsin bulk commodities will be boosted by a new $31 million Port of Milwaukee project, which is being helped by a federal grant. The ag products export facility will handle animal feed supplements as well as soybeans, corn and grain via deep-draft vessels. Construction on Jones Island has begun.
